Actor
Prashanth is all set to step into an intense new role following Andhagan (2024), with Ranjan – The Advocate . “Prashanth plays the character of
Ranjan, a seasoned and deeply committed legal practitioner. He goes to great depths in understanding every aspect of a case — an analytical mind who carefully studies legal concepts. His experience and dedication will reflect strongly in the way the character unfolds on screen,” shares his father, veteran actor-director Thiagarajan, who will helm the film.
Buzz is that the film is a remake of the 2025 Telugu film Court: State vs A Nobody. However, Thiagarajan, who remains non-committal, shares, “The film is a courtroom drama centred on the POCSO Act and how it can be misused by powerful individuals. It follows a defence lawyer who takes on a case involving a teenage client wrongly presumed guilty. The film explores the emotional and legal struggles faced by young lovers, shedding light on the consequences of their actions and the complexities they get entangled in,” he explains.
Devayani’s daughter makes her debutActress Devayani and director Rajakumaran’s daughter Priyanka and producer S Kathiresan’s son Hari will make their debut in the film as the young lovers. Thiagarajan shares, “I was searching extensively for the right faces for the young couple. Hari impressed me with his versatility. Priyanka stood out with her innocence and screen presence.”
